This is recipe is absolutely, positively, the most requested every Thanksgiving. My Family LOVES it. We can’t have Thanksgiving without it.
Broccoli and Rice Casserole
Ingredients
- * 2 cups uncooked white long grain rice
- * 2 large bunches of fresh broccoli
- * 1 1/2 sticks butter
- * 1 cup red bell pepper
- * 1 cup chopped onion
- * 2 cans Cream of Mushroom with Roasted Garlic soup
- * 2 cans Cream of Chicken with Herb soup
- * 2 15 oz jars of Cheese Whiz
- * 7 oz of Mexican Creama !/2 Bottle
- * Louisiana Gold Pepper Sauce
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 375F
- Prepare 2 cups of long grain rice per package directions.
- Steam 2 large bunches of fresh broccoli until tender. Cool and rough chop.
- Mix cooked rice and chopped broccoli in a large bowl. Set aside.
- Melt butter in a 12” skillet over low heat.
- Add onion and bell pepper and sauté until crisp/tender..
- Add the soups and mix well. Continue with low heat.
- Add Cheeze Whiz and mix well.
- Add 7 oz of Mexican Cream, and mix well.
- Add about 2.5 oz of pepper sauce and mix well.
- Mix cheese mixture with rice mixture.
- Pour into a lightly greased 9 1/2 X 13-inch casserole dish.
- Bake @ 375 for 45 minutes until lightly browned, hot
