Cheeseburger Pie
Ingredients
- 1 – 11 single-crust deep-dish pie crust pre-baked and completely cooled
- 1-1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 slices American cheese or 1 cup shredded cheddar
- 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
- 2 Tbls pickle juice
- 4 Tbls mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a large skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat, breaking beef into crumbles, until meat is no longer pink; drain. Sprinkle with flour and salt; cook for 2 minutes more. Stir in mayonnaise, pickle juice and milk. Cook for 2 minutes more. Fold in the chopped pickles
- Spoon 1/3 of filling into crust; then 1/2 of the cheese. Layer with another 1/3 of filling; then second 1/2 of cheese. Layer with the last of the filling and bake about 15-20 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting. Top with avocado, tomato, lettuce and bacon if desired.
