Sugar Cookies
Sugar Cookies! My sister-in-law, Sharon, would make these every Christmas for us. I finally got the recipe from her. These are the best Easter cookies I have ever had. They keep so well baked. The texture is marvelous but not suitable for cutout cookies to ice.
Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
Full recipe: 5-6 dozen depending on size you make
- 1 Cup powdered sugar
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 Cup butter
- 1 Cup vegetable oil
- 2 Eggs
- 5 Cups flour 710g
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 Tbs vanilla or vanilla bean paste
Instructions
- Cream sugars and butter.
- Add oil and eggs and blend well.
- Add the dry ingredients and vanilla.
- Mix well. Roll balls by hand about 1” inch in diameter and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Press each ball with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
- Bake 10-14 minutes in a 350F oven.
