Sugar Cookies

These are the best Easter cookies I have ever had.  They keep so well baked.

Ingredients
  

Full recipe: 5-6 dozen depending on size you make

  • 1 Cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1 Cup butter
  • 1 Cup vegetable oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 5 Cups flour 710g
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbs vanilla or vanilla bean paste

Instructions
 

  • Cream sugars and butter.
  • Add oil and eggs and blend well.
  • Add the dry ingredients and vanilla.
  • Mix well. Roll balls by hand about 1” inch in diameter and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Press each ball with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  • Bake 10-14 minutes in a 350F oven.

Notes

Makes 6-8 dozen cookies using the full recipe. Most times I make half of this recipe except around holidays then I make the full recipe.
