Green Beans with Creamy Pistachio Sauce Wow! There are a lot of Green Bean Recipes out there.  Some are Good.  Some are Great.  But this one is Awesome.

I’m telling you the Pistachio Sauce is the bomb.  The Pistachios provide a nutty sweetness.   Cooked in butter and evaporated milk until slightly toasted and the sauce is thickened.

This recipe is a masterpiece.  When I find a recipe that is this easy to make and is this good, well I can’t stop raving about it.  30 minutes is all it took.  That is from Trimming the beans to Plateing Dish.

Green Beans with Creamy Pistachio Sauce

I’m always looking for something a little different.  Beyond the norm.  You know we’ve all had a Green bean casserole.  So why not try something a little different?  Green Beans with Creamy Pistachio Sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans (trimmed)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (cubed)
  • 1/2 cup pistachios (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Place green beans and salt in a Dutch oven; add water to cover. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, until tender, stirring occasionally, 5-8 minutes. Drain and remove from pan.
  • In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add pistachios; cook and stir until pistachios begin to brown, 1-2 minutes. Stir in evaporated milk; bring to a boil. Cook until sauce is slightly thickened, 2-4 minutes. Add green beans; heat through, stirring to coat with sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Tip:  Reserve some of the Sauce to drizzle over the top after plating to give it just a little more appeal.  And a few extra Pistachios for garnish is a nice touch.
